Language Matters

The Lakota language is endangered. Teaching our children to speak our language helps preserve our ways of thinking and our history. Every Lakota child, regardless of their ability to speak with their voice, deserves to speak Lakota.

Resources

Our biggest resource is the fluent speakers who've helped us along the way. We're also working on resources to help families get needed devices into the hands of their family members and connecting families to language learning options.

Programs

Our Flagship program is the Lakota Language AAC vocabulary. To go along with that, we're developing a support & learing outlet for parents, training for teachers, and other resources.

Information

We are developing a virtual library of information on AAC use, speech therapy, and developmental disabilities, and how these interact with Indigenous culture.

Our Languages Are At Risk

Teaching our children to speak our language helps preserve our ways of thinking and our history. Every Indigenous child, regardless of their ability to speak with their voice, deserves to speak their people's language.

We want all of our children to be able to access their language!
